I’ve always been driven by a passion for storytelling.

Growing up, I devoured every book I could get my hands on. While losing myself in fantasy worlds and shedding tears over fictional characters, I fell in love with the power of a good story. I was moved by the ability of authors to combine words like carefully sourced ingredients to cook up something that nourished my mind and commanded all of my senses. Throughout the years, whether I was writing fiction, poetry, news articles, or video scripts, I have always held myself to that standard: Will my reader be able to see what I’m describing? Will my viewer be able to feel the importance of this story? I’m never satisfied until the answer is yes.

I’m committed to using my work to amplify marginalized voices. I’ve consistently heard from interview subjects that I made them feel comfortable and safe sharing their stories with me, and I can’t imagine a higher compliment. Embracing the complexities of our unique lived experiences moves us forward as a society, and I view every project as an opportunity to make those bridges between communities stronger.

I’m drawn to entertainment news because covering how we interact with and are impacted by the latest movies, TV shows, and theater productions is the perfect marriage of my values. These characters and the situations they encounter—real or imagined—are exciting vessels to provide commentary on our world as it is and what it could be. Breaking that art into pieces through in-depth discussions and examining the intentions of its creators is my absolute favorite thing.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I’m excited to see what we can make together.
